Resting above the door of the church building, is a branch of date palm bent into an arc. It's palm Sunday, and some fellow church members can be seen carrying palm leaves, some have it attached to their head ties, others come empty. Dije remembers she's supposed to have one too as a chorister, but she had totally forgotten. Taking a glance at the date palm tree just outside the church, she rushes over, takes a little leaf and attaches it to her head tie. Looking into the hall, she sees the choristers are already standing up, ready for ministration, so she rushes in.

Love or Hatred?
Bello gets up from the stone and begins to move outside the compound. To love or to hate, that isn't his duty as an officer. His duty is to ensure things like this don't happen, and should they happen, he should be able to play a part in bringing justice, no matter how little that part is. The sound of the truck's suspension enters his ears as he's gently carried into it. He hears faint cries. “Go! Go!! Go!!!” The turn of a key ignites the truck's engine and the it begins to move, away from the settlement, on the same path they came from. Lying down on the open vehicle, Bello's view is a mixture of burning palm trees on both his sides, and the dark blue sky above, covered occasionally by thick dark smoke. Bello hears in his ears, his own cries, his cries for his mother on a similar night, where palm trees lit the night with their fires, offering their smoke to the high heavens. This sound, mingled with the ambience of the chaotic night, climaxes to a high, then they begin to recede, even as his vision gets clouded by a creeping darkness. Then, nothing. His senses pick up nothing.
